हमने एक छोटी-सी अपील साझा की थी, ओडिशा के बरगढ़ ज़िले के समलेईपदर गाँव में बने जालंधर पटेल के वृद्धाश्रम तक मदद पहुँचाने की। चार एकड़ ज़मीन पर फूलों और सब्ज़ियों की खेती से होने वाली सीमित आमदनी से जालंधर पटेल ने 28 बेसहारा बुज़ुर्गों को सिर्फ़ एक छत नहीं दी, बल्कि एक परिवार दिया।साल 2017 में स्वतंत्रता सेनानी पार्वती गिरी के नाम पर शुरू हुआ यह छोटा-सा आश्रम आज उन माता-पिता का घर है, जिन्हें दुनिया ने अकेला छोड़ दिया था। यहाँ जालंधर सिर्फ़ आश्रम चलाने वाले नहीं हैं— वही बेटे हैं, वही देखभाल करने वाले, और वही हर रात यह सोचकर सोते हैं कि कल किसी की थाली खाली न रहे।
हमारी अपील के बाद आप सभी ने मिलकर सिर्फ़ एक हफ्ते में ₹12,316 का सहयोग किया। जिससे इन बुज़ुर्गों ने नए साल पर भरपेट, स्वादिष्ट भोजन किया और बदले में सबने दिल से दुआएँ दीं। एक बार फिर आप सभी का धन्यवाद!
